Themelets
Micro-workshops introducing the weekly theme.
Themelets are short, focused activities that warm students into the Academy topic.
They introduce key ideas—tone, emotion, creativity, mindset, storytelling, values—depending on the Academy selected.
They act as small “bridges” into the week’s main learning journey.
Use the filter system below to quickly refine your search and find exactly what you need.

LevelUp Commitment box
A powerful end-of-week ritual where students write a personal 12-month commitment contract to themselves. They reflect on one thing they're ready to let go of, one thing they want to grow, and one small step they can take this week.
Students sign their contract, then participate in a Commitment Ceremony where each person places their folded promise into the Commitment Box and declares: "I commit to myself." The entire group responds: "YOU got this!"
This creates a meaningful moment of bravery, belonging, and emotional support.

Compliment circle
A gentle, grounding activity that invites participants to practise self-kindness and receive kindness from others. The Compliment Circle creates a calm, safe space where students reflect on their strengths, acknowledge their challenges, and experience the powerful uplift of being seen positively by their peers.
It's one of the simplest Growth Academy rituals — and one of the most transformative.

Letter to myself
A calm, imaginative writing activity where students write a personal letter across time — to their future self, from their future self, or to their younger child self.
It builds emotional intelligence, expressive English, reflection skills, and inner confidence. Students choose whichever pathway feels most meaningful to them. Each version helps them recognise their strengths, hopes, fears, goals, and growth.
Every letter ends with a moment of self-gratitude, reinforcing resilience and self-kindness.

Supermarket Meeting
A warm, forward-looking improvisation game where participants meet each other in an imagined future — usually 10 years from now — inside an everyday place like a supermarket, a train station, or a small café.
The ordinary setting keeps things grounded; the imagined future gives students permission to step into possibility. Through positive conversation and playful role-acting, students practise envisioning their success, recognising their growth, and speaking kindly about their future selves.

Ad Improv
This themelet helps students practise spontaneous pitching, creative thinking, and confident communication by transforming simple objects into bold, improvised advertisements. It supports the final Startup pitch by building quick idea-generation, adaptability, and persuasive storytelling skills.

TV Channels
Students dive into high-energy improvisation to practice adaptability, rapid decision-making, and collaborative creativity. By navigating sudden changes in pace, emotion, and genre, learners experience the thrill of thinking on their feet while staying connected to their partners.
The session builds confidence, resilience, and flexible thinking, all essential for Film Academy projects.

Story Add-Ons
A rapid-fire collaborative storytelling themelet where students create wildly imaginative tales by adding short "chapters" to each other's stories. This themelet builds spontaneity, creative risk-taking, and flexible thinking — perfect for unlocking expressive storytelling in the Arts Academy.

Three-Line Scenes
A dynamic micro-improv themelet where all groups perform the same short scripted scene, each transformed by a different genre, emotional tone, setting, or intention. This builds expressive acting, creative interpretation, and confident English delivery — perfect for fast, funny, high-impact Arts Academy learning.

Speedy Retellings
A high-energy storytelling themelet where students retell famous stories in modern, genre-twisted, or totally reimagined worlds. This builds expressive storytelling, narration skills, creativity, and quick collaboration — perfect for developing performance confidence in the Arts Academy.
