When the 7th grade of Salzmannschule Schnepfenthal faced a sudden change of plans for their class trip abroad, the disappointment was real. But what happened next turned into something even bigger: a once-in-a-lifetime english class trip in Stralsund, created together with LevelUp English.
Instead of cancelling or settling for a “plan B,” 25 students embarked on a 6-day immersive English adventure by the Baltic Sea, combining creative workshops, outdoor challenges, and unforgettable group moments.
And the best part? They traveled sustainably by train, making the trip not only exciting and affordable, but also eco-friendly.
📌 Project Overview
School: Salzmannschule Schnepfenthal
Grade: 7th
Group size: 25 students
Duration: 6-day class trip
Focus: Music, Theatre & Entrepreneurship
Trainers: Felix 🇬🇧 & Mirren 🏴
Location: Stralsund (with beach, culture, and adventure on the side!)
🌍 A Once-in-a-Lifetime Alternative (That Became a Highlight of the Year)
Originally, the class had planned to travel abroad. When that option fell through, teachers and parents were left searching for an alternative that still felt meaningful. That’s where we stepped in. LevelUp designed a fully immersive english class trip right here in Germany, proving that language learning doesn’t require flights to feel international. Stralsund offered the perfect setting: coastline, nature, culture, and space for creativity, plus the chance to build real confidence in English through experience.
What could have been a compromise became a highlight of the school year.
🎭🎶 Creativity Meets the Beach – A Unique Learning Experience
Every day combined structured English learning with playful, real-world practice, so students used English constantly, not only in class.
☀️ Morning Workshops:
Each morning focused on three exciting themes:
🎤 Music WorkshopStudents wrote and performed their own songs in English — building vocabulary, rhythm, and confidence on stage.
🎭 Theatre WorkshopThrough improvisation, storytelling, and role play, students learned to express themselves freely and fearlessly.
💡 Entrepreneurship WorkshopThey explored future-skills like idea-building, teamwork, and real-world communication — all in English.
🌟 Afternoons and evenings:
filled with adventures and team-building activities, making sure that learning English extended far beyond the classroom:
🏖️ Beach Excursions & Bonfires: Time to relax, play games and enjoy the beautiful coastal setting.
🚢 Ferry Trip to Altefähr: A scenic boat ride leading to a forest adventure park where students tackled climbing courses and outdoor challenges.
🎳 Bowling Night: Friendly competition and bonding in a lively environment.
🏆 LevelUp Olympics: A fun, interactive challenge to test teamwork, problem-solving, and creativity.
🎉 Final Talent Show & Disco: A celebratory evening where students showcased their skills, sang, danced, and reflected on their incredible week.

This unique blend of education, adventure and social experiences ensured students had a summer class trip that ticked all the boxes ✅
